Public Health Dentistry

The department disseminates knowledge of health and oral health training in relation to preventive, nutritive and environmental aspects of oral health to tackle public health problems. Various educative, curative and preventive programmes are being carried out through village and school adoption. The department extends clinical coverage to nearby rural areas with the help of Mobile Dental Clinic, established Satellite Centres and collaborated Primary Health Centers. Special focus is given to scientific research activities and training related to research methodology and biostatistics. A special unit for tobacco cessation is functioning to encourage the population to quit the habit
